COOL TO BE AT SCHOOL IN THE CLARENCE AND RICHMOND VALLEYS

COOL TO BE AT SCHOOL IN THE CLARENCE AND RICHMOND VALLEYS

Nineteen schools in the Clarence and Richmond Valleys will be automatically eligible for the Cooler Classrooms initiative unveiled in the NSW Liberals and Nationals Government’s June 2018 Budget, Clarence Nationals MP Chris Gulaptis has announced.

“These schools need take no further steps; they will be contacted by School Infrastructure New South Wales officials to discuss air conditioning needs for their classrooms and library, “Mr Gulaptis said.

“Other schools may also be eligible but they will need to apply.”

“The criteria is based on January temperatures, which seems a bit odd since there is never more than a handful of school days in that month, but that is just how they measure it and our region seems to be on the cusp, with summers being milder on the coast.”

“If you are not on the list, you are still in with a shot. To find out more go to www.schoolinfrastructure.nsw.gov.au.”

The schools in the Clarence and Richmond Valleys deemed to meet the criteria are South Grafton High School; Baryulgil Public School; Casino Public School; Copmanhurst Public School; Coraki Public School; Coutts Crossing Public School; Leeville Public School; Grafton Public School; South Grafton Public School; Rappville Public School; Ulmarra Public School; Woodburn Public School; Gillwinga Public School; Casino West Public School; Westlawn Public School; Grafton High School, Casino High School; Manifold Public School; and Stratheden Public School.
