EVANS HEAD WOMAN OF THE YEAR FETED BY NSW PREMIER & MINISTER FOR WOMEN IN SYDNEY

Very modest and tireless community Evans Head volunteer Merilyn Ensbey has been congratulated by the NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Minister for Women Tanya Davies at a ceremony in Sydney yesterday to mark International Women’s Day, Clarence Nationals MP Chris Gulaptis has announced.

“I recently chose Merilyn as the local Woman of the Year because of her tireless volunteer work with a number of local community-based organisations,” Mr Gulaptis said.

“But what is even better is that Merilyn inspires others to become volunteers and that is absolutely fabulous for our community.

“Merilyn, her husband Dude had the opportunity to catch up with Minister Davies at a very special ceremony in Sydney yesterday.

“REX Airlines offered free return flights to Sydney for Merilyn and her husband and I thank the company for its support and encourage locals support the regional airline,” Mr Gulaptis said.

The NSW Women of the Year Awards program recognises remarkable women across the state who have achieved inspiring things in their careers, in business or in their communities.
