2020/21 Festival and Event Funding … Now Open!
Ballina Shire Council is pleased to announce the 2020/21 Festival and Event Sponsorship Program opened Monday 23 September 2019.
The program is now in its ninth year and has been a huge success for community festivals and events. It offers event organisers the opportunity to apply for sponsorship from a pool of approximately $100,000 of funding for their festival or event for the 2020/2021 financial year.
Over the years, the program has sponsored events including:
- Alstonville New Year’s Eve Family Festival
- Ballina Country Music Festival
- Ballina Food and Wine Festival
- Love Lennox Festival
- Skullcandy Oz Grom Open (junior surfing competition event)
Council’s Mayor, David Wright said, “It’s important we secure this funding for event organisers well before the start of the 2020/21 financial year, which is why we call for applications quite early on in the process.”
The Mayor went on to say, “Applications will be tabled at the November council meeting, so that an outcome will be known by December 2019”.
There are a number of eligibility criteria, such as; the applicant needs to hold adequate public liability insurance, with a festival/event budget of more than $20,000 and the festival/event must be held in the Ballina Shire.
The program opens on Monday 23 September and closes on Friday 25 October 2019. Application forms can be accessed online via Council’s website ballina.nsw.gov.au
