Kitchen upgrade at Broadwater Rileys Hill Community Centre
A new kitchen at Broadwater Rileys Hill Community Centre will make life much easier for its volunteers and allow more community groups to use it, Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan said, announcing a grant to upgrade the facilities.
“The Centre is a great community asset with more groups wanting to hire it for functions,” he said.
“However, the old kitchen meant it wasn’t suitable in many cases, which is why they came to me asking for help.
“This grant will allow the committee to upgrade the kitchen to attract more users and make life easier for volunteers who cater at the events.
“The upgrade includes a new larger gas/electric oven to replace the small old domestic electric stove, a new stainless steel kitchen trolley/workbench to allow volunteers to work all around the existing cabinetry and a new exhaust fan.”
The Centre’s president Trevor Walsh said the upgrade would add to “a great community asset”.
“It will also make it easier for our volunteers who work at the functions held at the Centre.”
