CLARENCE AND RICHMOND VALLEYS URGED TO APPLY FOR STRONGER COUNTRY COMMUNITIES GRANTS

Clarence and Richmond Valley councils and local community groups are being encouraged by Clarence Nationals MP Chris Gulaptis to apply for a share of the NSW Liberals and Nationals Government’s $100 million Stronger Country Communities fund.

“Previous rounds of this program, delivered by the Nationals in Government and exclusive to regional NSW, have funded local projects across the Clarence and Richmond Valleys to the tune of over $5.5 million including upgrades to playgrounds, sporting and cultural assets,” Mr Gulaptis said.

“In this new funding round, there is a particular focus on youth related projects with half of the grants dedicated to projects aimed at young people like job skills training expos, youth festivals, youth centres, social inclusion programs and support groups, and performing/visual arts infrastructure.

“It is all about building the physical and social infrastructure of the future.”

Applications, which open 1 July and close 27 September, are invited from eligible community groups and councils.

The $100 million SCCF will be split across the 93 local government areas in regional NSW with grant funding ranging from $50,000 and above.
