NATIONALS IN GOVERNMENT GET NEW EVANS HEAD HEALTH CENTRE UNDERWAY
Evans Head’s brand new HealthOne facility is a step closer with Clarence Nationals MP Chris Gulaptis joining with community members and health officials to mark the start of construction at a sod turning ceremony on Monday.
“Demolition to remove the existing structures has commenced making way to build the brand new building,” Chris Gulaptis said.
“If all goes to plan the new Evans Head HealthOne will open in April next year, bringing a modern health facility with extra health services to Evans Head.
“We are talking new clinical rooms, a gymnasium and treatment spaces as well as ample car parking on the same CBD site, which is a great outcome for the community.
“The new health facility is ideally located being close to existing GP services which will link into the services provided by the HealthOne and with plenty of space for much needed car parking,” Mr Gulaptis said.
The new HealthOne will deliver:
chronic diseases management and lifestyle groups;
cardiac rehab and respiratory groups;
child and family therapy groups including Speech Pathology, Physiotherapy, and Occupational Therapy; and
dietetics and diabetes education services.
Community health services have been temporarily relocated just down the road from the old Community Health Centre. The new temporary location is Shop 1/33 Woodburn Street, Evans Head.
