Northern Rivers Community Gallery (NRCG) Ballina launches four exciting new exhibitions this month and welcomes community and visitors to join us in the Gallery.
Between Time | Allen Koppe
In his exhibition “Between Time”, Allen has used long exposure photography to capture graphic, non-figurative, geometric forms found within natural and man-made environments. These images sit in a place between time where beauty is realised in their simplicity.
Finding Home | Katka Adams
This exhibition is heavy with personal experience, yet touches on wider feelings associated with the migrant journey – cultural dislocation, loss of tradition, and the search for belonging. It is as much about the struggle of holding on as it is about the relief in letting go.
Allure | Carol O’Sullivan
This body of work focuses on a visual place of rest originating from encounters with the natural environment. Minimal means of oil paint and cotton stitching have been used to draw the viewer into the simple beauty of nature to evoke an individual response.
20 Years – Selected Works | Kirstie Rea
This exhibition of contemporary works in glass looks back over the past 20 years at the work of internationally renowned, Canberra based artist, Kirstie Rea. Kirstie’s work explores issues around place, landscape and solitude.
All exhibitions open Wednesday 24 October 2018 and continue until Sunday 25 November 2018. The official launch event is Thursday 25 October from 5.30pm – 7.30pm and all are welcome to attend.
